June 17th, 2022 – Tangential flow filtration (TFF) is a filtration method that allows the filtrate to flow in a direction parallel to the membrane. It thus creates much less clogging of the filter membrane, producing higher concentration within shorter period, and processes concentration and diafiltration at the same time.
ROCKER® Scientific, the Taiwanese laboratory instrument provider recently enriched their product portfolio with lab-scale TFF system, Tanfil 100. As compared to other existing TFF systems, ROCKER’s Tanfil 100 provides higher flexibility of capsule selections for analyzers by being able to work with most capsule models. Furthermore, Tanfil 100 gives all advantages of tangential flow filtration including:
Concurrent process of concentration & diafiltration
Tanfil 100 is a technology of TFF (tangential flow filtration), which is able to process concentration and diafiltration at the same time.
Less membrane foulings
In Tanfil 100, sample liquid is streamed in parallel continuously to the membrane, thus prevents solid built-ups and increases utility of membranes.
Easy scaled-up
TFF is a technique that can be linear scaled-up from lab experiment to production scale.
